If you’re reading this, you’re probably aware of the countless number of online diamond retailers. Like many industries, it can be difficult to ascertain whether an online retailer is either trustworthy or provides high-quality products. The same goes for the diamond industry, yet due to the high prices of diamonds, it’s all the more important to ensure you’re getting a good deal.

In our constant search for the best diamonds and the best diamond retailers, we work to sort the wheat from the chaff when it comes to what to buy and who to buy from. Today, we will be reviewing online jewelry retailers B2C Jewels, who boast over 40 years of being both a retailer and manufacturer of diamond jewelry.

The B2C Jewels Product Range

On their site, B2C Jewels write:

The core goal of B2C Jewels is ‘Utmost Customer Satisfaction’. Our team of qualified and dedicated personnel is continuously working towards the fulfilment of this goal. We aim to beautify you and adorn your memorable celebrations with the best of quality, value and service. Our sole objective is to make your shopping a pleasant and worthy experience.

This is something reassuring to see, and with an aim of ‘beautifying’ us, we can assume that they have a wide range of products to choose from.

That assumption is immediately clarified with a visit to their website. In terms of size, B2C Jewels are comparable to some of the most well-known jewelry retailers that utilize an online presence, such as Whiteflash, Blue Nile, or James Allen. As of September 2021, a quick search of their natural diamonds returned 269,907 diamonds available to purchase, which is a very impressive range, especially in terms of price.

Alongside loose diamonds, B2C Jewels also offer lab diamonds, engagement rings, wedding rings, earrings, bracelets, pendants, and necklaces. Customers are also offered the ability to customize their own jewelry.

However, a large product range isn’t the only mark of a trustworthy and experienced online retailer.

The Pros and Cons of B2C Jewels

We searched extensively through the B2C Jewels site in order to come up with several pros and cons.

Cons

A Lack of Diamond Images

The first noticeable problem upon inspection was the lack of good-quality images when viewing diamonds.

Images are the first port of call for someone looking to make a purchase. Unfortunately, B2C Jewels don’t make much of an effort when providing these. Many are stock photos and don’t include alternate angles or HD videos.

For example, compare and contrast the images used for this 0.80 Carat Round Shaped Diamond offered by B2C Jewels with this 0.741 ct D VS1 A CUT ABOVE® Hearts and Arrows Diamond. While the two diamonds are of a similar carat weight, the same cut type, and the same color, it’s only Whiteflash that offers a wide range of high-quality images, as well as two videos to demonstrate brilliance and sparkle.

This lack of images can represent a big problem for potential buyers, who are not given much visual information to inform their decision. This is made an even bigger problem due to the fact B2C Jewels are an online retailer, as you cannot physically visit a store to inspect the diamond in person.

A Lack of ASET or Ideal Scope Images

Like the previous issue, there are also no ASET or Ideal scope images available on site. These images provide a deeper analysis of the light performance of a diamond and can confirm the clarity grade given.

B2C Jewels will be able to provide these upon request, but we cannot guarantee this will occur for every diamond, as it requires communication between two third parties before a sale is even made. This may take some time, so it’s always best to request these in advance.

Pros

30-Day Return Policy

For those not satisfied with their purchase, B2C Jewels offer to “Refund, replace, or exchange any unworn item(s) within 30* days of delivery date.”

They provide a pre-paid shipping label free of charge for domestic customers.

Free UPS Shipping

For those customers who live in the US, they receive free shipping on all purchases, with the ability to upgrade on shipping options for a small fee. International orders will obviously take longer, with an estimated shipping time of 7-10 days, however, these may be subject to things such as customs charges.

The B2C Jewels Search Tool

Any online retailer worth its salt will provide a good quality on-site search tool. The B2C Jewels search tool is exactly that.

To narrow down their huge range of products, customers can choose specific parameters to search for. So, if you’re targeting certain criteria for a diamond, such as a VS1 clarity grade or a D to F color range, you can easily do so.

Your results will be returned in a list format, which offers a wide range of quickly accessible information, but doesn’t provide a picture, unless the listing is clicked on.

Discover The Best Diamonds Online

Finding the diamond for you from the comfort of your own home? It’s easier than ever.

With trusted online diamond retailers such as Whiteflash, Blue Nile, or James Allen, who all offer a wide variety of diamonds that are widely hailed as some of the very best on the market, you’ll be able to find the perfect diamond for your needs.

For example, consider Whiteflash’s A CUT ABOVE® diamonds. I would also suggest reading my review on the Astor by Blue Nile diamonds, as well as my True Hearts™ by James Allen, which are also compelling choices.

Should You Buy From the B2C Jewels?

Because B2C Jewels is an online retailer, the jewels they currently have for sale are part of an online inventory. This means that the vast majority of diamonds they list are not in-house, and are in fact owned by someone else, with the diamonds being held in vaults. This explains the lack of images, but also means that complete images may be difficult to procure or take a while to make it to you upon request.

This means that any buyer needs to trust the B2C Jewels information fully before making a purchase. When making a purchase like this, a calculated risk must be taken. Without proper images, this risk will always be present.

For those with modest budgets, B2C Jewels may be one of the only places where diamonds are affordable. Under these circumstances, it’s worth trying to procure as much information about a specific diamond as possible before a purchase is made.

B2C Jewels do offer a wide range of very affordable diamonds, and they have a price flexibility that’s sometimes rare to find. However, this advantage of flexibility is almost canceled by the lack of images.

Similarly, some diamond certificates aren’t immediately available on the website. Some can be accessed directly in PDF format, while others require an email address to be entered, which may be an unwanted hindrance to some buyers.

One thing you must take into account with B2C Jewels is their price range. Yes, they have products that value up into the millions of dollars, but they also have diamonds and jewelry on sale for a few hundred. It’s worthwhile to remember that you get for what you pay for, with some testimonials I was able to find directly pointing out that specific pieces of purchased jewelry were of poor quality.

However, this is not reflective of all pieces of jewelry, as some other reviews clarify that the items purchased were just as expected in terms of quality.

In conclusion, customers should take caution when purchasing, and remain aware of other online retailers who offer a deeper level of analysis and information for their diamonds and diamond jewelry.

However, customer reviews and the reviews provided by other sites look to be mainly very positive, meaning that, with the right background research, B2C Jewels is a fine site to purchase diamonds and jewelry through.

Purchase The Perfect Diamond Online

Online retailers offer the perfect balance of experience and accessibility. But always purchase from the retailers that offer an extremely detailed level of information, such as diamond certificates, high-res images, and HD video

We would recommend perusing the ranges offered by Blue Nile, Whiteflash, or James Allen. These purveyors, especially Whiteflash, offer some of the very best diamonds on the market, and each is a trusted dealer ready to help you choose the diamond of your dreams. James Allen and Blue Nile have fantastic selections but are more suited to buyers who have smaller budgets.
